The launch, originally set for 15 December 2024, was postponed due to delayed delivery of electric train units from Polish manufacturer.

Starting from 1 April 2025, RegioJet will introduce the new suburban railway line S61 between Prague Main Station and Úvaly.

The new S61 service will operate at 30-minute intervals during weekday peak times and hourly during off-peak periods. Weekend services will run hourly, extending from Prague Main Station to Praha-Vršovice. Stops along the route include Praha-Libeň, Praha-Kyje, Praha-Dolní Počernice, Praha-Běchovice, Praha-Běchovice střed, Praha-Klánovice, and Úvaly. This line is expected to relieve congestion on the eastern corridor from central Prague.

The delay in the delivery of new electric units has also impacted operations on the existing city rail line S49, connecting Praha-Hostivař through Praha-Libeň and Praha-Holešovice to Roztoky u Prahy. RegioJet took over this service from 15 December 2024, temporarily utilizing diesel trains leased from operator Arriva. The planned introduction of new electric three-car Pesa trains on line S49 will also start on 1 April 2025, with trains already in testing operation.

RegioJet secured operations for both S61 and S49 lines following a public tender held in 2021, with a contract duration of 15 years. The authorization process delay of the Pesa trains for the Czech rail network resulted in a postponement of approximately three and a half months. The Prague Integrated Transport organizer, ROPID, announced contractual penalties of up to 292,500 EUR against RegioJet due to the delayed start of operations on the S61.
